Drama Reviews - Glitch (2022)

Glitch is about Hong Jihyo (Jeon Yeobeen) who goes on an alien-hunting adventure with Heo Bora (Nana) after Jihyo's boyfriend Lee Siguk disappears, possibly due to being abducted by aliens.

Glitch has been on my radar ever since the cast was released because I have been a diehard Jeon Yeobeen fan since Be Melodramatic, and my favourite girl group of all time is After School which Nana was from. Honestly I went in with low expectations because the reviews weren't glowing, but I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it.

November 2022 - Jeju, Seoul

I'm back with another travel post! Been so busy with full-time work and my part-time masters that I really didn't have time to complete many shows, but planned to go to Korea straight after the semester ended.

Always wanted to go to Jeju due to the various shows set there and especially after Hyori's B&B, and headed to Seoul as well since we were already heading to Korea. And actually it was really my parents who wanted to go since they've watched a ton of kdramas after getting netflix. Scoot also just started direct flights from Singapore to Jeju this June, which really increased the incentive. We took Scoot from Singapore to Jeju, Jejuair from Jeju to Seoul, and Scoot back from Seoul to Singapore. There are many options for Seoul to Singapore but as I booked pretty early, there was a really good deal for Scootplus, which includes wider seats, food and baggage which is really all we need. I also added baggage for my flight to Jeju, so my Scoot flights cost about $580 per person, while the Jejuair flight which also included baggage cost $64. The price of Jejuair flights change a lot depending on the timing - if I recall correctly, if the flight was at some weird timing like 8am, it was only $15.

Drama Reviews - My Liberation Notes (2022)

My Liberation Notes is a slice of life drama about 3 siblings, oldest sister Yeom Kijeong (Lee El), middle child Yeom Changhee (Lee Minki) and youngest child Yeom Mijeong (Kim Jiwon), who live in Sanpo, and a stranger, Mr Gu (Son Sukku), who recently enters their small town.

June/July 2022 - New York, Philadelphia, Washington DC

My first holiday in more than 2 years! Went all out - all the way to the opposite side of the earth. Honestly it was a trip that has been planned for forever because two of my closest friends live there, and I was going to head there in April 2020 with another friend. Obviously, the trip couldn't go through (luckily I hadn't booked tickets then), but decided to head there while I could before more circumstances (external or personal) prevent it again, and before they head back to Singapore haha. Since I could stay with them during my trip, I managed to save a lot on hotel fees. Hotels in US are EXORBITANT.

Drama Reviews - Twenty Five, Twenty One (2022)

This hit drama is a coming-of-age youth drama starring Kim Taeri as national fencer Na Heedo, WJSN's Bona as her enemy-turned-bestie Go Yoorim, and Nam Joohyuk as male lead Baek Yijin, a sports reporter. This show has been on my radar from the start because watching everything Kim Taeri stars in is just something I do, and I LOVE the Jaurim song which inspired this show. I was extremely busy during the time it aired (working full time and doing a Master's part time is no joke), but I picked it back up again when the semester ended and sped through the eps in a week.

Drama Reviews - Our Beloved Summer (2022)

My first drama of 2022! Our Beloved Summer is a drama about a couple, Kook Yeonsu (Kim Dami) and Choi Ung (Choi Woosik), who filmed a documentary in high school and ended up falling in love and dating for 5 years, but breaking up, then meeting again after another 5 years, not having moved on from each other. The drama's official genre is rom com, but it was a lot more like slice-of-life to me.

Drama Reviews - Work Later, Drink Now (2021)

Work Later, Drink Now focuses on three ladies, Ahn Sohee (Lee Sunbin), Kang Jigoo (Eunji of Apink) and Han Jiyeon (Sunhwa of Secret), their lives and the role drinking plays in their lives.

When I heard that there was a drama focused on a female trio and it was getting rave reviews, I knew I had to watch it. Shows focusing on female friendships like Age Of Youth, Be Melodramatic and Search WWW are some of my all time favourite dramas. I also have a soft spot for Eunji because she has such a wonderful voice, and I actually watched Reply 1997 when it first came out (back when tvN was still trying to establish itself - what a long way it has come) and loved the show.
