December 2017 - Shanghai + Osaka (Part 1)
It's vacation time again after 4 months of school. After our short 6 week mandatory research project, I did my paediatrics posting for 8 weeks which was super exhausting because an average day is 7am-7pm. And then I'm currently doing my psychiatry posting which is a lot more chill. We have a 3 week break before going back to psychiatry so I planned 2 trips - 8 days to Shanghai + Osaka with my family, and another 5 day trip to Vietnam with friends. Also can't believe it's about almost a year to our final MBBS exam! Time flies...I still can remember being a clueless first year. Now a slightly less clueless 4th year.
This will be about my 1st trip to China & Japan. I headed to Shanghai because my brother was heading there for a business trip so my mum and I decided to tag along After 3 days in Shanghai, my mum and I would fly to Osaka to continue the trip. Originally wanted to go to Okinawa but I think you need a car to get around in Okinawa and I haven't driven since passing my driving test 3 years ago! And because I really really wanted to go to Universal Studios Japan.

July 2017 - Switzerland
Annual summer break, annual big holiday! This is 2 months late cos I was lazy and too busy watching dramas!
We chose Switzerland on a whim. I just thought the 1.8k flights to Zurich on SQ were pretty reasonable so I booked it, and didn't expect everything else to be so expensive. Luckily, it was a family trip, so all expenses covered by the ATMs, aka the parents haha. My sister booked the flight a couple of weeks after us due to some scheduling problems, but thankfully, due to wonderful SQ, we got seats all together :)
Also, all my pictures are unedited/unfiltered, and blogger seems to reduce the quality of pictures which is really annoying, but real life is definitely prettier than whatever we took!

Drama Reviews - School 2017 (2017)
Uni has started, but luckily, the 4th year of medical school is considerably less intense than 3rd year. Plus, we have a 6 week research project at the start of Y4, and I happened to choose a pretty straightforward project and I chiong-ed in the first 2 weeks - which left me a lot of time in the past 3 weeks to watch stuff. So I picked up School 2017! Mainly because I was an IOI fan and curious about how Sejeong was doing, and also because everyone was swooning over the main couple.
School 2017 is about Ra Eun Ho (Kim Se Jeong), a pretty ordinary student in Geumdo High School who doesn't like to study and prefers drawing webtoons, and how she gets involved with Hyun Tae Woon (Kim Jung Hyun) through a mysterious figure X who is doing pranks in school.

Drama Reviews - Dear My Friends (2016)
Dear My Friends is a slice of life drama about a bunch of ahjummas (+ a few ahjussis) who have been friends since elementary school, and their children. It's a rare drama focused on the elderly, and it is certainly not for marathoning imo. It's rather short at 16 episodes but I took more than a week to finish it because I can only watch 2-3 episodes in one sitting before feeling completely emotionally drained.

Drama Reviews - Forest of Secrets/Stranger (2017)
The first 2017 drama I've watched! Actually started on Dear My Friends after Age Of Youth because I wanted a similar vibe about friendships, but DMF is super draining on my emotions and not great for marathoning, so I looked for something else. Saw a lot of people recommending Forest of Secrets/Secret Forest/Stranger (LOL why so many names) and hyping it to be even better than Signal, plus I saw that crazy cast, so I watched the 1st ep and was hooked. Thankfully, I marathoned it just in time for the last episodes so no wait agonisation here. It was GREAT.
The story starts with a murder, which brings Prosecutor Hwang Shi Mok (Jo Seung Woo) in acquaintance with Lieutenant Han Yeo Jin (Bae Doona) from the police, and they slowly start to work with each other to unravel more and more secrets behind the victim, the prosecution service & police force.

Drama Reviews - Age Of Youth (2016)
Age Of Youth is a slice of life drama about 5 girls with vastly different personalities sharing the same house, Belle Epoque. It starts off with the introduction of newcomer Yoo Eunjae (Park Hyesoo), who is the youngest. Her roommate is Yoon Jinmyung (the phenomenal Han Yeri), who is the oldest, a business major juggling many part time jobs to make ends meet. Then there is Kang Yina (Ryu Hwayoung), an escort pretending to be a college student, Song Jiwon (Park Eunbin), a super off kilter and crazy girl who has never dated, and Jung Yeeun (Seungyeon) who is dating a douchebag. Each of them have their own demons that they have to work through.

December 2016 - Thailand (Bangkok & Chiangmai)
Spent 5 days in Thailand this December with family! I was always averse to holidaying in Thailand due to some preconceived notions and fear of Thai food but this trip changed my perspective on this beautiful country! Also I'm craving some Thai food now. Tom yum, pad thai, basil chicken!!!
We were looking for a place with cool (but not cold) weather to go to so usually people will suggest Australia & Hong Kong, but I've already been to those 2 places this year, so we decided to visit Chiangmai, and added Bangkok since it's the capital after all.
